My view for about 3 hours Saturday. Partook in a tractor cruise. 45 entries started the day. Not all of them made it completely through the 30 mile cruise.

Started and ended in Wetmore. First year for the event, but by the sounds of it, they will try to have annually.

My folks have a Hustler and are hard as hell on it and it’s been cutting huge swaths of poorly maintained farm “grass” for like at least 5 years and still going strong so I can recommend that one. Also it hauls ass.

I researched mowers a decent amount this summer then the rain decided to shut off so I figured I'd get by with what I have for the remainder of the year. If you have much acreage at all, I would strongly consider a commercial unit. Scag, Ferris, Hustler, Deere, and Exmark all make excellent commercial units. Ferris has suspension all the way around if you have rough terrain. Former coworker had a rear discharge Grasshopper and he mentioned that it would windrow pretty bad if the grass had much height to it at all.

Or you could go with my dad's tried and true method of buying some cheap Walmart yard machine mower that lasts about 2 years then just keep the old ones around for "spare parts".

There are actually 4 mowers in the garage right now and 1.5 of them are operational.

Also he once blamed me for them being POS"s because I kept mowing trails through the wind breaks with them.

Incredible. I was surprised to see wheat harvest still going on west of Scott City in W. KS and eastern Colorado a couple of weeks ago.

Have you guys heard about the billionaire who bought part of the old Missouri Pacific railroad between Towner, CO and Pueblo and is building new grain terminals to ship crops out of this region? Pretty interesting and ambitious.

IIRC a couple of years ago someone in this thread mentioned a Russian buying up any farmland that went for sale near Scott City.

good page they keep updating tracking our current juvy lion. usually when one gets into town it gets hit by a car pretty quickly or some redneck trees it and shoots its ass full of bird shot and it has to go live the rest of its live at the zoo (true story) so this one must be a black belt car and redneck avoider.

Interesting bio between being the 22nd largest land owner in the US and being able to field a full offensive football team with only his offspring.

(But basically this was a way to get some oligarchs money out of Russia and into legit assets right? )
