Cousin sent me a pic of "old blue" from today. He and I were putting up hay with that beast in the late 70s early 80s

we had one of those, remember hauling grain to coop in town with my grandpa when i was a little boy, would talk him into a bottle of pop back when they were sold in the glass bottles.  i'd later drive it as a silage truck, i think it now sits in the shed not sure if it still works or not.

how does someone get within 100 yards of that truck without getting covered in chiggers

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

if defying covid lockdowns to see extremely small cows is wrong, i don't wanna be right.

although it looks like tinycow is not very healthy and will probably die soon, which is very sad.

6 rows x 25 bales = 150 per load.  We had a telephone line to clear in the driveway.

Last load of day is what you started with at 10 following morning + 1 more load before lunch.

5 more loads in the barn after noon to get your 1,050 a day plus 1 more load to start in the morning.

My cousin noted he only went 4 high this week cause he is 57 not 17 anymore.

Dad farmed with 2 cousins.  The other one had this set up.  To this day I find a square bale knotter and bale thrower to be amazing technology.

I guess the thrower eliminated dealing with a teenage hay crew along with making use of silage wagons to haul hay. I would shuttle wagons packed with randomly loaded bales to barn where dad and hired man unloaded and stacked.

So when we broke out 250 acres about 30 of them are a playa lake. We can't put it into CRP until we farm it for 5 years.

It rained this year so of course it's doing playa lake type things.
