Nice looking rig but the implement looks a bit lightweight for breaking out pasture unless the soil is really sandy.

Did anyone else grow up playing THE FARMING GAME? It was kind of like monopoly but with farm thing. If I could go over to my cool older cousins house and get her to play that game with me for a couple of hours, it was like the most awesome thing that could happen.
Sure did, have it in the basement. Apples and cows.

My brother says it's a checkered garter snake

The photo was taken in NW KS, a lil out of the normal range.

Still waiting for noted snakeoligist sys to weigh in

Them sum dumb sun-of-bitches; I grew up on a ranch just east of Cedar Bluff State Park and we had blue racers, garter snakes. water snakes, bull snakes, prairie and timber rattler snakes.  Also, had some big ass Tarantulas that the rough ridin' Nuns at the Catholic Grade school I attended didn't believe were around our part of Kansas.  So I brought a jar of them the next day and they were so rough ridin' scared the locked the outside doors since I let them go during recess.  Cops were called to make sure it was safe to let kids out on the playground.  The moral of the story is don't call me a liar cause you read some crap from dumbs fucks that don't know what they're talking about.

checkered garter snake is close, it's a plains garter (the big one and the little striped one).  the other one is a juvenile racer.

put a branch or something in there leaned against the wall leading up to wherever they're getting in from so they can get back out when they fall in.  either that or block off the entrance.

We had a couple of garter snakes and a racer in our flower garden in front of the house.  They are great for eating bugs and mice.  They are gone now, and I don't know what happened to them.  All three had small 1" holes they went in and out of.

@sys my dad lifted the snakes out of the hole so all is good. Now that the cats are gone we need the snakes to keep the rodents in check.

Good for your dad.  I don't know if you have a water well for the house water, but if so spring is a good time to check for snakes and mud puppies/  They love to get into hand dug wells.

Holy crap, my dad made business cards for his hobby cat(RIP) ranch.

(Peters was my Grandma's GPA who originally homesteaded the land in the 1890's)

Maybe send an email pretending to be a local farmer asking if my dad has seen any mountain lions on his land?

UFOs?

Red wolf's?
