Probably not until it gets warmer, even my dad doesn't spend much time out there this time of the year. I'm going on another vision quest to WY in July so I'll definitely spend a couple days at the cat ranch on the way to/from.

Milo is going away to bird dog boot camp in April for a month so I may go out there in May or June to let her run around and test out her new found skills.

Interesting article I stumbled across today. I checked the Tillable website but it looks like they have not expanded into KS yet.

Tom,

Is that bad boy boy only for decoration? No doubt you could use your farm engineering skills to hook up an automatic cat feeder about 6'5" high on that windmill.

We have some cows that have twins every single year (for like 4 or 5 years anyway, cows don’t live very long). They’ll be known as, like, 375 or something because their ear tag and assigned number is 375 (or some similar number, I don’t actually know). But like you’ll talk to one of our cowboys and they’ll be like “ole 375 had twins again, damndest thing”

Sd dad has a giant leather bound book where he tracks cow number and calf info and some other stuff. Tried to get him switched over to either a laptop or tablet but it never takes. He also writes all over the leather in his truck if he has to take a quick note and the notebook isn’t within reach.

Also on styrofoam cups in his cup holder. It’s important to remember to transfer this data to the book before its forgotten or disposed of.

Yes, and an iPad and a laptop and drones and tractors that drive themselves with gps. But gall darn it, sometimes a pad of paper or a pickup console or a cup is still the best tool for the job.

Dads go to was feed sacks.  Usually double lined he could peel the outer paper off and write on the inside
