I bet we win more games than we did last season.

it'd be almost impossible not to.

Neither of you actually believe that though.

i do.  maybe "almost impossible" is a little strong.  but i believe it is highly probable.

I see we are the last game of an ESPN marathon telecast.  I hope this is not like a digestive tract - we all know what happens at the end of that.

You wouldn't if it wasn't K-State. The non-con schedule is just as difficult if not more than last season, of course the conference schedule is of course the same. I don't have to tell you about all the players we lost and the fact that there is little to no expectations from their replacements. There is no basketball explanation to be had that can rationally lead to improvement. We will be picked either 9th or 10th in the conference (Hey there Tech!) Do you also think KU football will win more games this season than last?

It wouldn't surprise me at all if we win more games than last year. Not everyone shares the same expectations.

15 wins is not that hard.  there are six scheduled wins.  go 9-17 in the remaining games (more than 50% of which are at home/semi-home) and you're at 15 wins.  a few of those games will be against top 25ish teams, but there are a lot against mediocre teams.  they don't have to be a good team to win 15+.

Ok, I will put my wallies on public arena of goEMAW ridiicule.  I believe we have the potential to to ram a bag of purple bird seed up jaysnobz at least once, we will beat Howdy Doody Ol' Hounddog Roy, and only loose 2 non con since it is a TCU schedule.  I think about 500 in the league is about right.  With oscar I don't have confidence any more, but if the newcomers buy in then watch out.  Hopefully Twocoaches doesn't mess them up for oscar - let Chet be the deface bench coach.

the only real disagreement we have is texas southern - columbia and the pitt - st louis games.
texas southern was legit last year making it to the 2nd round of the tourney. columbia was and is booty.
pitt went 8-10 in the acc last season w/ quality wins over teams that stl would never win - UNC, SU, ND.  again, i'll always defer to a big east/ACC team in pitt over st louis.  pitt had quality youth. st louis has/had mo valley.

and LBS would run mu out of the gym, so i guess i don't agree with that one either.

i don't know, seems to me like a much tougher schedule last year.

Yeah, Columbia's RPI at the end of the year last year was roughly 100 places worse than Texas Southern. There is no perfect way to compare the schedules in August. If you use the last RPI from last season, both schedules have the same number of teams that are top 100 in the RPI 5, the 2014-15 has 6 teams in the bottom 100 of the RPI while the 2015-16 has 5 teams in the bottom 100 of the RPI.

None of this is particularly relevant other than we can't really say that Weber scheduled more wins this season than last.

agreed, the discussion should be/is about the roster.
while i think last year's schedule was stronger than this year's, i also believe that last year's roster was good enough to handle it in a way that the majority of us would consider a success.  factor in oscar and what happened with the roster and we saw the results.

this reason that year's team will struggle won't be because they're playing @ A&M, etc

^and this is not news to anyone so i'm not sure how i got here other than i just think last years schedule was a tough one
