Why can't he be honest with himself like Gary Williams was at Maryland (a much better coach, but that's beside the point) and just admit he can't relate to college basketball players anymore and quit?

So is he now coaching to lose, or coaching not to lose? I'm still confused on this point.

In postgame #oscar, he said maturity was point 1 on the sheet.

Show starts at 3:13:40; sheet talk is at 3:15:28.

My mistake; I've corrected it.  So much talk of adversity around here, I typed that instead of maturity.  Not very brilliant of me.

that does make sense, then.  pretty prescient of weber to head off lack of consistency at the pass with sheets of paper.

I've always had a hard time understanding oscar, but it was more just the cognitive dissonance that comes from watching an awkward loser like that continue to be employed by respectable basketball programs. Now I straight up don't understand what he's even talking about anymore, but I'm sure the mental gymnastics he has to perform to continually absolve himself of any blame can make his message a bit tricky to convey in a way that makes sense to those of us who don't walk around all day bullshitting ourselves and everyone around us.

Here's some low-quality, but at least it's in landscape.  I'll vine it off my tv at some point.

I expect that somehow we end up beating ku at home this year.  Those on the fence about oscar will be content and call it a decent season.  Ku will go on the Final 4.  Much talk in the offseason about how oscar is "really close" and "we beat a F4 team".  Optimisim abounds before another .500 season of apathy for many.

Feelin' the KU win also. Very Dana Altman circa-1994 feeling, where we just get lucky (except this year's team probably won't be in the NIT final four).

We're melting down about oscar, please bitch about the Chiefs in the designated area, you're going to attract Wacky and it's going to completely derail this thread.

Guys I am emotionally drunk over the excitement of getting a chance to play in Madison Square Garden at the end of the year.

We have to be prepared to handle much more adversity to get us there though....
