PETA named the mayor its person of the year for his concerns about the safety of horsies in central park when he banned carriage rides.  PETA comments said horses can get killed on busy roads.  The mayor seems to have more compassion for critters than his policemen.  He would not last in Reno Amishland at Yoder.
