Caribou is so good tho, like you see the name of their song and you just start singing it in your head

NOW KEEP IN MIND: NOT ALL OF THESE SONGS WERE RELEASED IN 2014. They were just new to me in 2014. Quite a few 2013 and older releases on there. d/l link coming.

Albums of the year (I pretty much only listen to Bay Area albums start to finish, so w/e):

The Range of Light Wilderness (S/T). You may have noticed they had five songs on my favorites of 2014 list because yes they're that rough ridin' good: http://open.spotify.com/album/7lQwsL4WsC6pf5vPL6kBhB

Odawas - Reflections of a Pink Laser. Just different stuff. The last two songs back to back are just so rough ridin' amazing that just for that moment it made the list. http://open.spotify.com/album/2sdMT0F1uA0o4GacZcGuCZ

Kool AD - Word OK. starts slow, gets rough ridin' tight the second half: https://koolad.bandcamp.com/album/word-o-k

Hmm. I think Foxygen is one of my faves on there. Also, Sylvan Esso.

Some notable 2014 stuff I came across listening to DJamer mixes while running. Plus 2014 Marina and the Diamonds because she's also the best.

My favorite on that list is "Close Your Eyes (and count to eff)".  I haven't heard it, though.

I've decided I'm doing a pop country-only list and broadcasting it to San Francisco hipsters.
do they even have pop country radio stations in 'Frisco?

there are two in San Jose that I can get most of the time. It's absurd that there isn't one in SF or Oakland. (or at least like Walnut Creek or something).

I actually googled it and found a release that the only county station in SF proper is one of those DJamer-less Nash stations and it sounds like the only one in NYC is the same deal.  NYC didn't have a country station at all from 1996 until last year   :sdeek:

that Nash station is actually in san jose, too. http://radioinsight.com/blog/headlines/88776/rumor-mill-cumulus-to-launch-nash-fm-in-san-francisco/

And I don't think you can get it everywhere in SF.

10. Start Again - Bishop Allen
9. Blank Space - Tswift
8. The Ballad of Mr. Steak - Kishi Bashi
7. Angel of Small Death and Codeine Scene - Hozier
6. The Writing's on the Wall - OK Go
5. Girls Chase Boys - Ingrid Michaelson
4. I Wanna Get Better - Bleachers
3. Everywhere I Go - New Politics
2. Shut Up and Dance - Walk the Moon
1. To the Top - Twin Shadow

Bleachers is my album of the year by a wide margin. My second favorite album is probably the cloud cult acoustic album.  Those were really the only new albums i consistently listened to all the way through.

you're probably number 2 on this bbs in terms of hippest music taste.  maybe 3 behind 8man (and rusty obvs).
