Adding seats to the OOD is pretty Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) and should be very low on our list of things to think about getting done.  Also, WICHITA PAK!  (if on a weekend)

Pretty slim chance I'll be living in the same ideal location for this by the time it happens.  Needed to happen this year.  :curse:

If Bob Krause was still around Frank would be picking out carpeting for his just about to be completed new office right now.

Just saying . . . we've got a mega PC AD, who doesn't want to get the bitchers and moaners and Academic Policy Wonks on campus all mad because athletics is spending millions of dollars on facilities.    Half of the bitchers and moaners and Academic Policy Wonks will think the state is paying for it.

Just get it done.   The Academic Policy Wonks will be around forever and they'll always be bitching about this or that new thing.

I love how the title is about building on success but the actual piece has no mentions on anything of the sort.  Stuff like, "We want to continue to firm our foundation" is about as polar opposite of "build on success" as you can get.

I wonder if those Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) academics realize that the product (education) being sold to the consumer (students) is only half as enticing w/o good sport programs? I hope it's not the marketing and economics professors doing the bitching.

Wasn't this supposed to be the return Alabama game?

We need a 2010-11 schedule thread, I have always loved those during the offseason

Huh?  We could add temporary/permanent seating behind the South Goal (where the tarp is) for <$50,000.

We'd pay that debt off in the first 1/3 of the '10-'11 season.

yeah i've thought for a long time that they need to do something so that when players from other teams shoot free throws on that end they aren't distracted by... a tarp

not that people waving their arms or whatever really makes a difference, but it looks so stupid to have that tarp

seems like they could rig something with bleachers or something so that if they needed to have the huge tunnel they still could

the media area is way too big and in too prime a spot.  they could move those no recruiting coverage producing freeloaders behind one of the baskets and have another 50 or so 5k/year seats.

what has currie done?  that article was about them really not doing anything.

"so, john, what have you done?"
"well, we're thinking about putting in a practice facility but need 20million, we're thinking about changing around the seating or adding seating"
"so, have you done them?"
"done them?  no, but we're still thinking about doing them."

yeah, forgot about that.  they're close to getting ahearn renovated for f'ing volleyball....with expanded concessions.  his "take care of the non-profit producing sports before I focus on the ones that make money" prioritization is awesome.

I'm thinking something along the lines of instead of a tarp, a hard tonneau cover if you will. It would go all the way to the floor and raise up when our announcer does the super sweet "Heeeerre come the cats!". Upon opening copious amounts of fog come out with some fire safe fireworks. Out pokes a cannon that shoots Willie to the other side of the court where he slams a basketball. The team runs out and the crowd goes wild. Seats could be attached to the hard top and they could ride it when it opens....like a small carnival ride or something.

Hate to say it.

But right back to Tim Weiser Jr. you go ADJC heretofor referenced as Tim Weiser Jr. until further notice-UFN.

So yes, excellent story on Tim Weiser Jr. thinking about doing things.

Totally agree, at least another 50 high dollar seats where the media sits.  Many arenas are moving the media up into the endzones in the stands.

Weiser was inept.  Curry is not.  To date:

1) revamped football ticket pricing.
2) cleaned out Weiser/Krause era ruh-tards employed by ADepartment
3) paid Frank
4) practice faciltiy.

#4 will happen.  and soon.  If you don't choose to believe it, than so be it.  You'd be wrong.

What else do you expect a guy to do in his first year as AD?
