Nebraska '98 set the stage for us to beat two teams we were favored against to reach the title game. At best this game would give us the chance to play a team we would be a double digit dog to for a chance at reaching the title game.
this is a good point
does anyone care how the Jack Gardner cats got to the natty in '51? no, no one gives a eff. the point is they had a chance to win the whole damn thing because they were in the actual game, not how they got there. so, i'd say the final 4 win was the defacto best win in the programs lifespan, because it put them in place for the biggest win in its history.
in saying that, if a few things fall the right way, snyds could lead the cats into the biggest game in program history in a few weeks (playoff semi-final)*, so I would say the win that got them there is the best win at the time. they win the semi-final and make it to the champ game, it's the best win. then of course, the natty.
*i'm in no way saying this will happen or even expecting it, just trying give one side an argument
