so i wanted to see how our offensive and defensive units have performed vs our opponents' respective units, including their national ranks.
the vertical axis is the offensive/defensive rank of our opponent.
the horizontal axis is the points scored in the game.
the lines connect KSU's score & opponent's score (green lines are KSU win, red lines are KSU loss)
the data point WITH a label is KSU points scored & opponent's DEFENSIVE rank.
the data point at the other end of the line is KSU's points given up & opponent's OFFENSIVE rank.
for example, the data point labeled "Oklahoma State" indicates KSU scored 48 points vs the #98 defense, and the other end of the line indicates KSU gave up 14 points to the #81 offense.

thoughts:
-KSU's best offensive performance: 31 vs #23 Oklahoma def
-KSU's best defensive performance: 20 vs #6 Auburn off
-both offense and defense probably had their worst day vs Iowa State
-with the exception of Texas, every single team's offense is ranked higher than its defense
