The season is still but a babe, but the question begs to be asked; will oscar's bunch of Bramlage bombers regret their early 3 point success? The Cats have hit over 50% from long range in the first two games with Nigel and Marcus both hitting 67% while young and aptly named Tre Harris clips along at 80%. Even big man Big Meat has hit a three. As a wise coach once warned, the dangers of fool's gold can be real friends. However, the fact that only 1/3 of the Cats shot thus far have been 3s gives some pause to this very early season fear. Overall, the offense looks solid as Weber's current version of assistketball has added getting to the FT line in bunches as an additional weapon.
The real threat for Cat fans through two games is likely the defensive end, as the only real strength to this point is forcing turnovers. Teams are shooting well against the Cats and rebounding could be a potential concern. This appears to be a team that is going to play at a bit higher pace than our first 2 versions of Bruceketball. If the offense continues to click with improved defense this team could contend for the top 3 in this league, but at minimum we should expect to be dancing in March.
Go Cats.
