The bars on 7th street are better than downtown (well with the exception of the flying saucer).  They've really pushed to have the bar district be the 7th street corridor (just west of downtown) and have retail in downtown.

Yes.  It's the Trinity river.  It's more of a creek IMO but Texas loves to label big creeks as rivers.

I drink good beer.  So no natty, but I will be popping an addy and smoking a fatty and probably drinking a session IPA with an occasional whiskey shot.

Yea, it has exploded since then.  The Pour House has changed into a beer bar.  They had a couple scandals with police officers getting smashed there and then getting DUIs so they had to reinvent themselves.  There are bars across 7th (Abbey Pub, Poag Mahones) and Velvet Taco (which is good).  There are more bars a little further down off of Foch Street.   

Turnover is still somewhat high because the real estate is a little over priced.

And if the Mexican place was Gloria's, that's more South American food than Mexican.  But Gloria's is good.  It started in one of the cities around here and now there are 5-6 of them.

Just looked it up on foursquare. It was La Familia. We did try and go to Gloria but too busy.

Houston Street bar and patio was a pretty cool place downtown with a roof deck. Is it still open? It was pretty dead but good to sit outside.

I have no idea.  I never make it to that part of downtown anymore.  I have 4 places that I go to for the most part.  The Bearded Lady because the lady that runs it gets fantastic beer and the food is good. (this is off of Magnolia.  There are some cool bars of there.  It's pretty hipstery and yuppie-ish though).  The Flying Saucer bcuz good beer.  The Gingerman bcuz good beer.  The Royal Falcon because it is close to my house, the drinks are cheap by DFW standards, and occasionally I hang out after close with the bartenders. 

If you've never been to a strip club in Texas, then you should check out one of the nicer ones.  Strip clubs are one of the few things that Texas is awesome at.

Also, carrying a flask inside Amon Carter is pretty easy.  As long as it isn't super obvious, security will not eff with you.  They check bags.  If I carry a bigger one, then I will slide it inside the waist on my jeans.  If I carry a smaller one, I just put it in my back pocket and make sure the top is covered by my shirt.

Ah yes, sorry for not being clear.  Strip clubs in Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston are awesome.  I would never go to one in South Padre.

2 years ago, the TCU fans were so nice and polite that I almost felt bad that we were beating them so badly.  People coming up and shaking our hands and welcoming us to Fort Worth.  It was weird.
