Local Elections
« on: October 12, 2014, 01:43:05 AM »
That I'm actually caring about this week

Gov

Sammy v Pauly

Big First
Jim Sherow  v Huelskamp

Orman v Roberts

I was surprised to see Davis pick up the Kansas Fraternal Order of Police and the Kansas State Firefighters political action committee endorsements.
Haven't seen any local polling in the last couple weeks.  I imagine that we'll see more, especially as national interests look towards KS because of the gubernatorial races and the Senate race with Orman/Roberts.

Should have named this thread "Attention Fellow Libtards." I was hoping it would be a thread for people to discuss their clueless county clerk, the hillbilly running for sheriff, etc.

If your count clerk is a serious election you're following you can discuss it here.  Maybe introduce the candidates to us and why one is more ideal for you.

I have not heard why Orman contributed to Obama and old bastard Reid.   Was he trying to grease the wheels to get something or is  he in love with their policies.   He apears not to be a moderate or independent.  I don't want an Obama or an old bastard Reid  cohort representing Kansas.  Kansans support Republican positions.  So if Orman answers to the voters of Kansas does that mean he will take Republican positions.  So why vote Roberts out then - we know him.  Orman needs to answer why he made these donations and who he will caucus with.  If not, he is Captain Weasel, and just a dirt turd politician.

If I had to guess, I would say Orman wanted tax breaks for his business. He has donated to Republicans, too. He has my vote unless he makes it known that he will vote against projects that bring billions of dollars to Kansas.

A real poop sandwich out this way.

Kay Hagan aka Pom-Pom waving straight down party the line party shill and wife of a crock who for all matter of speaking stole money from the gov't playing an insider corporate shell game.

or

Tom Tillis aka typical NC Republican jack leg

Sad

I would vote for Tillis, but he spells his first name "Thom." That would lead me to favor Hagan. Of course I would have to see a debate or something to know for sure, but my first instinct usually holds.

I'll never understand why the ability to change one's opinion based on new evidence is spun as a weakness in politics.

I think it is because most people really don't vote for the person so much as their party.

Because changes are almost always disingenuous, and based on polling and/or populism, rather than critical thinking or values.

Politicians are beholden to their party, and are nothing more than puppets.
