Pig Sooey is pretty annoying, as is the OU fight song they play between every play.  Cowbells would probably be 3rd in my ranking of annoying, but then again, we haven't played them yet.

Can't speak to the OU fight song, but the "Pig Sooey" is positively tame compared to the cowbells. I literally take earplugs to MSU games.

So how does that work? Does the SEC? Were they like grandfathered in?

Technically speaking they are not allowed to ring the bells except for certain times like between plays, but in reality they do it all the time, especially in big games. The university often has to pay a fine to the SEC after those games, but it is a comparatively small one. When MSU goes on the road in the SEC, the fans are carefully checked for the bells at the gate.
