It's almost like we're the dorky freshman in high school who goes over the top trying to impress the cooler old kids. If we were more confident in ourselves we wouldn't give a eff about what they thought and would quit asking these dumb questions.

Also, I think I'll take advantage of the inferiority complex and wear a visiting team's garb around Aggieville and the tailgates before the game to get free food and booze.

Note to self - avoid DickStone's tailgate.

If you are a Cats fan you will be fine.  Anyone who has 'gated with me knows which food has been prepped for opposing fans.

I have been told that the brauts I cook are the very best except for those that I've butted.

When I have guests to my home, I generally expect them to supply their own food and drinks and prefer that they clean up after themselves after we quietly eat in separate rooms.
I once blew clove smoke in a guy's face that cut in front of me in the line to KJ's.

i make it a rule in life to only say something to someone if i know them. this seems to work well for me.

I have the same rule

Can confirm.

After Metalhead introduced us, you said nary a word until after I made a peace offering in the form of a mini-beer at wahoo...

Long story short: free shots open these type of folks right up.

I won't go out of my way to talk to opponent's fans but if I come in contact with them and they're friendly, I'm friendly. It's as simple as that

Taunters are a problem though

I love love love talking to visiting fans to the point where I'm certain they're annoyed by the end of it.  I just talk their ears off about their stadium and cool little traditions of theirs that I may have heard of.  I really am awful about it.  I just have too much fun.

The million "Welcome to K-State," and "Thanks for blah blah K-State" stuff gets old quick. They do it to everyone, not just visiting fans. It reminds me of "Minnesota Nice," and after awhile becomes phony and patronizing as hell.

I like to talk to strangers, especially those from other areas of the country. Semi-common interests (ex. NCAA FB) are just gravy. So, I like talking to opposing fans. The whole "man better be overtly friendly, so people validate us with glorious praise," is over the top and lame. While not a fan of extreme buffoonery, at least it's more genuine than putting on a fake smile and cheery disposition like I'm ordering food at Granite City or some other chain restaurant.

There are two things I want opposing fans to leave either BSFS or Bramlage thinking. One, "Good grief that place is loud/ intimidating." Actually, that's the only thing that really matters.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

I think k state fans can be a little insecure sometimes. This leads to the overdone niceness. But oh well.

I want them to think we are cool. Kinda hurts to admit that but ok. There is nothing less cool than forcing things or being fake. I dunno.

I do not buy opposing fans drinks in bars. I do offer a beer to opposing fans at tailgates.

Also, is that a dummy, or Bobby "The Brain" Heenan's head?  at how small his head looks compared to Andre.

Listen MIR.  Dobber has spoken and it's clear than you're advocating spitting in opposing fans' faces and pulling the "not touching not touching!" bull crap.  Sorry, but I didn't make the rules.
