Sean Snyder . . .
« on: September 18, 2014, 10:53:27 PM »
coaches the special teams and the kickers.

Could we honestly say we've ever gotten a complete game from special teams with Sean Snyder as special teams coach?

The only one I can possibly think off of the top of my head is at TT two years ago.   But it seems like every single game at least one facet of special teams has substantial break downs.

Albeit the one long attempt was a little hard to blame on the FG unit and the kicker.

Thank god that Krause isn't the AD anymore, he'd probably be our next head coach.

Punting unit had a good game. Kept 'em backed up quite a bit. So 1 good thing. Kind of evens out.

That's true, but you can't "even out" in special teams when one segment is awful in 2 of their 3 opportunities.

ST has been worse since SS took over than it was under Bill without SS. I don't think that is disputable. He need to step down.

I mean, the kicker was terrible, but that's a personnel issue, not scheme. But that guy was one of the best in the league last year. We were solid on returns and coverage. Really special teams was 1 guy having a terrible night, Sean's unit has had much worse nights than tonight.

Like against ISU when they gave up a punt return for a TD and couldn't get 10 yards on kick returns?  Or against SFA when we had a return called back because we called for a fair catch? You are great but I think you're wrong on this. ST were better under Snyder pre SS.

Can somebody that attended the game confirm wind conditions?  Seemed like the ball was moving around a lot while in the air.

The ISU punt return was mostly the punter's fault.

I was talking about this game, that's all.

As long as 16 stays healthy and Cantele fixes his head, special teams will be fine this year. JMHO

I felt really really bad for Cantele when a select few fans booed him off the field after his 3rd missed field goal. You have to really be a classless asshat to do that. Do you honestly think he was trying to miss those field goals. Good grief

Barners can control the wind now?  :surprised:

It was really pretty crazy. He missed more FGs tonight than all of last season.

If I were a kicker, I would feel bad if I didn't get booed after a third straight miss. That would just mean that everyone thinks I suck and they don't expect me to make chipshot field goals.

Booing is part of the game, asshat. The universe is full of yin and yang moments. When you're awesome, the crowd exalts you. When you suck ass, the crowd crucifies you. That's what makes life interesting.

Bad snap on one FG attempt last night, completely messed up the timing.

Let's not have gopowercat.com staff syndrome and lay literally everything at the feet of the players (because D.Scott and company are afraid to pi$$ anybody off at K-State) every single time.

Sean Snyder coaches the kickers, Sean Snyder coaches the special teams, and as I've said, it's rare that we ever get a complete game from the special teams unit.

let's be honest, Sean's special teams are just Lockett.  Hell, our entire offense is just Lockett.  We didn't have lockett for the past two games for returns and it sucked.  Then he comes back and we return everything.  That's not coaching.  It's talent.

missing 3 rough ridin' field goals is inexcusable.  hopefully he get's his mind right.  judging by our offense, we're going to need him this year.
