A Big XII crew will work the game Thursday night vs Auburn.  Hopefully, the eff job we got from the SEC officials in 07 has been made abundantly clear to them.

Can you provide a source link on who is officiating?  I have seen other posts here indicating that "SEC" officials officiated the 2007 game too.
The way it normally works when we play other conferences(in fact I think it is a NCAA agreement between the conferences) is that either there is a neutral set of referees agreed upon.(many times at a neutral playing site)  Or that the visiting teams conference refs officiate. Maybe for long distance games they allow the teams to agree to what you are saying. I just would like to see some confirmation on this.

You people and your links.... If it wasn't true, I wouldn't have posted it.

The Tigers also travel to Kansas State on Sept. 18 in a return trip, which will fulfill a home-and-home contract. Auburn received $425,000 as part of the two-game contract signed Dec. 12, 2006.

A crew from the Mountain West Conference will officiate Auburn's game against San Jose State on Sept. 6. SEC crews will officiate games against Samford and Louisiana Tech. Big 12 officials will oversee the Kansas State game in Manhattan, Kansas.

Well gee wiz .... By the way if you read my post I went out of my way to make sure you didn't think I was calling you a liar.  But many people have posted things that where inaccurate on the internet and I don't know you from a hill of beans. It also goes against what is usual in NCAA.
I didn't say you where wrong either.  I only wanted to confirm it. So thanks except for the sarcasm.
By the way, the folks I met from KSU in 2007 are much different than most of your bunch here.  They where actually quite pleasant.

I hate to tell you this, but the NCAA doesn't decide game officials for regular season games.  They are generally decided by the conference of the home team during the summer, unless contractual agreements state otherwise.

Now, who salts the trees of the opposing teams after the game is played, that's probably an old conference rule somewhere.

Well all I know is that when we have played home and home with ACC teams, the visiting teams refs have officiated the games.  I asked some time back to a person in the athletic department and was told that at the NCAA level that there was a general agreement between the power confernces for the visitors conference refs to judge the game unless it was on a neutral field when there could be a neutral conference referee group. Unless otherwise agreed upon by the two teams. Where I guess distance might be a factor.

I spent a little time trying to look it up but was unable to find anything either way.

Perhaps it's because we don't show up everywhere we go with this extreme superiority complex thinking there's no way we don't win by 30+ simply because we are SEC-SEC-SEC...

Save for a few level-headed AU fans that have actually considered the fact that pretty good football might take place on a couple dozen campuses outside of the embarrassing part of the US, virtually every Tiger backer has been condescending & dismissive at best.

$425k for us to come out to the Little Apple and play you guys?  Sounds like a bargain deal for your fans!  Good football is worth good money!

I wouldn't come out to Lawrence for anything less than $750k.

We're not broke, we just charge appearance fees for when we would normally never be seen in public with said other team.  Could really hurt our street cred :(

I have no issue with the occasional meme with the key point being "occasional", rather than ever post in the thread.
