How did a person come up with 9000 lbs to part with anyway?  Do people breed lady bugs?  Asking for a friend.

I'm really glad Ricky D doesn't know where I live.

Remember when he asked you like 13 questions about where you live? Great job dancing around that

they aggregate in cold weather, especially in the mountains.  you'll see mounds of them on the south facing bark on trees.  people collect them and sell them.

maybe they also breed them now, dunno.

Counting out 1500 bugs to put into a bag has to be just awful.

They usually get to 8,400 or so and them some dick behind them starts going "8,398...8,578...8,239...8,920" and they have to start over.

They probably just look at how many LBs they have and then calculate how many LBs that is.

I bought 10k ladybugs off Amazon about 10 years ago and put them in my bosses truck, right before he went to a meeting at Frito Lay.   They were crawling across the conference table...

attempt to estimate just exactly what 10k ladybugs look like for me. i'm having a hard time wrapping my mind around it.

surprisingly small, about a 12"x12"x12" box.  they come in a mesh crate in a box, you keep them in the fridge (not something my wife was happy about).    but when released in an F150, they spread out pretty well.

oh, and at that time, you could also buy a 5 gallon bucket full of something like 40k or thereabouts.    I considered that, but shipping was a lot higher.  I think i paid about $20 for them.

mikey- in your expert opinion, would it be possible for a human (adult) to eat 10k lbs in a single setting?

should I be called upon to testify in open court I would be hard pressed, given my knowledge of these matters, to state that any one person short of Charlie Weis could consume 10k ladybugs in a sitting.

my initial thought was to prank katkid with them by going over to his house, opening the container and then dumping them all over the place or something similar. dunno. :dunno:

This is an excellent idea. Would go halfsies.

You should also keep some for yourself--you'd have the most pest-free tomatoes and pepps on the block.

Need buying advice. Thinking of getting an air mattress. Do I get the $50-75 one with the built in pump or the $20 cheap mattress and a $20 pump?

Even good air mattresses eventually leak.  You can patch them, but they'll end up leaking a gain soon.  Rather than paying twice as much every pop, buy a good air pump you can keep for every one of your semi-disposable air mattresses.   Plus then if you ever don't have AC, you can do this:
