I only hear crickets in poorly sprayed basements. Cicadas are loud as eff though. I actually enjoy it.

Place hedge apples sparingly around the perimeter of your home and in the corners of your basement. They sell them in Minnesota for just this reason but there are plenty in KS free for the taking.

Yes. Growing up we had a cricket problem in the basement. When we finished the basement, we put hedge apples in the walls. No more crickets

the crickets are not inside the residence. but if you go outside or even have the windows open it is like nonstop cricket sounds

Yes what is their problem? Although flies are more irritating.

Perhaps we could start an irritating index to rank pests*?

*Not mice and stuff, more like flies, gnats, fruit flies, crickets, etc

We had five or six gnats in the house a couple weeks ago. I've never dealt with them indoors before, it was maddening.
