Damn. Would have been pretty cool if they signed him.

What did Kiper say?
He said that Thompson is very much project that benefited from the coaching staff this year being able to find other ways to win games they shouldn’t have.

It would have been cooler had he been signed and was playing today, but it blows my mind how he can take a year off and still be in a position to suit up and play in a playoff game at his age.

In my judgment T.New is the finest football athlete from Kansas in the last 30 years. I will listen to other contenders, but in anyone's reasonable opinion he would be in the top 2 or 3. He was so athletically gifted, he played in all 3 phases in the game. If anything, I wish Bill had played him more at receiver.

In his first 6 years in the NFL, he only made 2 pro bowls. That is misleading and quite frankly a shame because he was a pure shutdown corner and teams simply did not throw to the receiver he was guarding. He actually took an entire 1/3 of the field away. People overuse the term gamechanger, but Newman completely changed the trajectory of the game from his position.

Saying he's the finest football athlete has so many connotations so I won't argue that point. I will say that while he was a shutdown corner in college, I don't think that was the same in the NFL. The last few years of his career he was the active leader in interceptions. While that proves he was an excellent cornerback, I'm not sure it proves that quarterbacks were afraid to test him. He's awesome and underrated, as most good corners are. To get media attention as a corner, you kinda have to act like a donkey.

It would have been a embarrassment for him.  I think his new career is in coaching.

Is this the thread where we talk about how sad I’ll be if the draft streak dies this year?

Isaiah Zuber got called up from the practice squad and got his first reception for the Patriots.
