Earliest Memories
« on: July 21, 2014, 06:43:58 PM »
SD's disney world thread had me thinking....At what age were your earliest memories that you can still clearly recall?

For me I would say around 5/6 years old. I can vaguely remember bits and pieces before that age but usually only if I see a picture or my parents remind me.

Like I know my parents took me to disney world and other vacations when I was super young but all I have left is a mickey mouse hat, no memories.

FUN SUB TOPIC! EARLIEST SPORTS MEMORIES!

Cats Fball- 1993 Weber Lock Copper Bowl

Cats BBALL- Listening on the radio when "Ski" Jones drop 64 points in a NIT game, 1994?

Kansas City Chefs- 1993 AFC Championship game loss to the Buffalo Bills

Kansas City Royals- Nothing significant has happened in my lifetime :-(

I remember things as soon as I was 4. I use to go to classes with dad while he was at k-state and I'd ride on the back of his bicycle to class. I also remember attending a Royals game that year vs the Angels. So I pretty much remember everything after that. Also, remember seeing the cabbage patch kids do some play at a manhattan park that summer. That's when I saw this for the first time:

Wanted to start this thread a couple times. I vividly remember listening to my mom's stomach when my sister was still in there, which puts me at age 3 years and 1 month.

My cousin's baptism. I was 4 at the time.

Was at the cats game when we tied mizzou. Don't remember the year. I probably remember something earlier, but that one is vivid.

I remember Darnell Valentine playing Rolando's cats. Memory may be incorrect, but that's what I remember.

Right around the time my sister was born, ~3.5 years. She was born a few months premature, which was a big deal. Also, I ended up with my first set of stitches for cracking open my chin on my grandparent's bathroom sink. I cracked my chin open while my mother was at the hospital. We went to visit her after they were done stitching me up (nobody had told her yet). They like to blame me for sending her into labor.

Breaking my arm at 18 months. Remember it happening, remember driving to the hospital and remember later having the caste removed (terrifying saw of death).

I remember my sister being born so like 2 years 2 months.  I remember my dad using a pay phone afterwards to call people (we didn't have relatives where we were stationed).

I have alot of memories of  pre-school and the baby-sitter I went to while in pre-school.  I didn't turn five until the very end of that, so most of those memories are from four.

The first memory I have a specific event was sitting in my cousin's basement watching Bon Jovi do the acoustic version of Livin' on a Prayer/Wanted Dead or Alive on the 1989 MTV Music Awards.  That puts me a five years, five months.
I got a guy on the other line about some white walls

You're lying.

This is the response I always get. You're lying, you made up the memory later, that's impossible. I submit to you, sir, that it is the truth.

I remember my sister being born vaguely, but I remember our baptisms even better (we had them together) and i was about 2 years 8 months, she would have been 2 months. Earliest sports related memory was playing tee ball, first practice, I had the ball, threw it at a kid, he threw it back, and I didn't get my glove up in time and boom, blood everywhere. I learned to catch the ball after that. I was prolly either 4 1/2 or 5 1/2.
