One thing I like to do in the off-season
« on: July 15, 2014, 11:02:28 PM »
For conference standings predictos, I like to play a game where I look at somebody's WL conference record/standings and try to figure out who they have winning every game, and which games they leave unanswered.  FOR EXAMPLE:

1.Oklahoma 12-0 (9-0)
2.Baylor 10-2 (7-2)
3.Kansas State 10-2 (7-2)
4.Texas 8-4 (6-3)
5.Texas Tech 8-4 (5-4)
6.Oklahoma State 7-5 (4-5)
7.TCU 7-5 (4-5)
8.Iowa State 4-8 (2-7)
9.West Virginia 3-9 (1-8)
10.Kansas 2-10 (0-9)

So everyone loses to OU. Everybody beats KU. Everyone except for KU beats WVU. Everyone except for WVU and KU beat ISU. In reality, then, the rest of the league is decided by a 5 game season where the standings are:

T1. Baylor (4-1)
T1. KSU (4-1)
3. Texas (3-2)
4. TTech (2-3)
T6. OSU (1-4)
T6. TCU (1-4)

Tech must split games against TCU/OSU (they must lose against the loser of OSU/TCU). This means we can get rid of TCU and OSU and remove two wins from each remaining team except for tech, who will only have one win removed and one loss removed.

T1. Baylor (2-1)
T1. KSU (2-1)
3. Texas (1-2)
4. TTech (1-2)

So the winner of Baylor/KSU loses to the loser of Texas/Tech and the loser of Baylor/KSU beats the winner of Texas/Tech.  I don't think you can figure them out beyond this. Thus, the only games the example leave unanswered are the Baylor/KSU game and the Texas/Ttech game and OSU/TCU game.

Wow! What fun!  Try it out on your own if you get bored over the next few weeks!

:Woohoo:

i do this but with jelly bellys.  basically all the cappuccinos are gone 1st and all the licorice will last until someone else eats them or i throw them out.  i guess ku would be the licorice in your scenario and oklahoma would be cappuccino.

Also i just double checked.  I screwed it up.  Tech doesn't have to split games against TCU/OSU.

Anyway, but then you can branch off and look at all the different scenarios and think what'll happen.

I way to far binged to even try and comprehend this right now.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.
