No turnovers for us and Landry Jones and Blake Bell (the FAILdozer) played like hot garbage.

The word.

Skimming through the schedules from the last couple seasons, I think KSU is on a 17-game streak of beating bad teams and losing to good teams, since losing the 2013 opener to a 1-AA.

But, the 2012 game AT NORMAN may have been our last win over a good team.

that win was incredibly lucky and OU wasn't very good that year.

That's true, they finished #15 (10-3) with their 3 losses coming to us, #5 aTm, and #3 Notre Dame; pretty weak.

they lost to every good team they played so imo they weren't very good.  they got abused by aTm.

I will feel terrific about our chances if Knight gets hurt against Texas.

We don't want him hurt. He's awful when he's in.

I see this game pretty much like Auburn where our defense is solid enough to keep us in it, but we aren't physical or talented enough on offense to keep up and also make a couple stupid mistakes.

We looked pretty bad in our only road game of the year so far. Hopefully we can play a good, clean game with few penalties.

Man, I'm having flashbacks to our defense feasting on OU in 2012. What a bloodbath.

UPDATE:

Gooners trash talking has been reignited. They think it's going to be blowout. 21+ points. I politely disagreed, being the better human being. After I dropped an Adrian Peterson line, of course. It's getting really out of hand on Oklahoma sports talk radio. Already looking ahead to Baylor. Fugg these assholes.

Am I wrong to consider this game a "trap game"? Ever since 2012 we are OU's super bowl, and I have to believe our guys are looking ahead to next weeks rivalry game against Texas.

I don't disagree, but it's going to be in how they get Shepard alone in his zone that's going to matter.

My guess is that we try not to let that happen.

This isn't going to look a lot like last year in the fact that their running game isn't anywhere near as good as it was last year, and Knight just hasn't been the threat to run, statistically, like he was last year.  I think a lot of that has to do with the same problem we have, which is if Knight goes down running, they're left with a really, really subpar backup QB.

Our tackling all around Schelly is much better.  We're much more athletic in the levels in front of him.  I'm not as concerned about him in the running game as I am him trying to assist coverage of Shepard or Neal.
