Swimming Lessons?
« on: July 09, 2014, 08:14:05 AM »
What a weird thing.  I mean I know how to swim and I have access to a pool, and yet I pay someone $100 to teach my kids how to swim.   lol smh.

it's a summer activity for mom's to pay babysitters to babysit their kids in a swimming pool so they can talk with their friends for an hour.

if you're paying $100 then it better be swimming lessons from a mermaid or something.

You can start as early as about 6 months.  They don't learn anything obviously, but they get used to being in the water.  Kind of a waste of time, actually.

My kids are on a swim team.  Few things are more boring to watch than swim meets.

swimming in general is weird in my opinion.

I would pay a retired Navy SEAL for swimming lessons.  Or Natalie Portman.

Rowdy boy is right.  Also, if your kids drown some day you can say you tried everything and not feel guilty.

Swimming lessons saved my life. I fell in a roaring river when I was 8 in Colorado and I survived it based off instinct and mermaid swimming skills. It's nothing to mess around with.

Yeah, but if you start young then the parent has to participate in the swim lesson with the kid.

Some adults need swimming lessons too.  You would be shocked how many people can't swim.  It's not something people admit.

Adults who have little to no experience swimming still go to lakes.  It doesn't take much for an intoxicated person to fall off a floating device and sink to the bottom.

I took swimming lessons for a long time as a kid, at the YWCA. Heated pool for all the old people doing aerobics.

I have known how to swim for 98.7% of my life. I can't imagine not knowing how to swim. It would be so scary to go to the lake or to a swimming pool.

I'm an excellent swimmer and when snorkeling and they say don't go out there becaus of the out tow or whatever I go out there anyway and just plow back through it to shore. mrs. dave could probably drown in a plastic back yard baby pool so I have to snorkel right behind her in the beginner snorkel areas most of the time.
