Best overall uniforms

Can't let this slide. They are too billboardy. The WC unis are cool but club unis are basically team sports version of nascar decals. SKC's uni has Ivory Funds like 40 times bigger than the team name.

NBA will give in first, MLB will hold out longest.

Nike (or whichever company makes the uniform) will just make their logo larger. I have no doubt uniforms will have other logos soon. I actually expect some team to be named for a company in the next 10 years.

The thought of any huge corporate logos on pro unis just feels awful.

What if this trickled down to college?  What if Briggs ?  :horrorsurprise:

I really enjoy the national anthems during the World Cup.  Columbias sing along with the crowd was great.

The decoration of the ball changes.

Ugly people seem to enjoy it, which is nice for them.

Other than than that it completely sucks and is awful.

Look, America does sports better. Soccer is not some advanced form of sport, if anything it lags behind American sports. Logos on unis is an example of this. It's more likely that those dipshits will take the disgusting logos off of the unis than Americans adding them.

soccer fans legitimately believe that when their team does well it has a lot to do with how the crowd carried them to it. like, listening to BBC radio at the world cup this week and they are interviewing all the fans all over and they actually believe that if they are better fans and cheer louder and do their songs their team will do better. it's very great to listen to and also lol.

this is from memory but I remember it was argentina but a lot of the words are prolly different:

BBC guy: what's your prediction for the game (match?)
argentina guy: argentina 6 other team 0. Messi with 4 goals. our fans sing our songs very loud and the team does amazing and rides our support to an easy win.

(one word I know is correct is "support". soccer fans call their song singing "support" all the time)

I have really sat and thought about this thread for a long time.  I really like the bee hive soccer the kids play at first.  That's great.  So fun to watch.

Sorry but you're wrong, comically so. The NBA will have logos in 5 years or less. They started it in the WNBA as an experiment and is working, the owners will want the additional revenue. The WNBA experiment was to see how jersey sales will be effected and data has showed that the ads have not had an adverse effect on jersey sales. The NFL has already allowed them on practice uniforms and has for a couple of seasons.

There are multiple American sports franchise owners who also own European soccer teams. They see how much money these uniform sponsorships net them and they aren't going to let that revenue sit for too much longer because of a few jingoistic dinosaurs who think that making money is beneath them because soccer does it.

I know and I hate it. I consider sports teams to be civic owned in a sort of way. They represent our city or school. There are enough ads that it would be nice if they let a team repping Kansas City or Boston or wherever represent that city with its uniforms.

I think, at least to start they will simply have a patch, like the NFL practice jerseys instead of the full corporate logo across the chest.

especially when they play in stadiums the tax payers of that city have paid for.

i still don't know that the nfl and nba are bound to follow the example of the wnba and a sport that doesn't have commercials.

Owners are all money hungry. There's already plenty of minor league teams with the company patches on their jerseys, especially "specialty" jerseys. Is it really that hard to imagine Gatorade, GM, McDonalds or any other company that already spends millions/billions advertising on sports to strike a deal to get their logo on the jerseys? If the nostalgia of college bowl games came be infiltrated by corporate naming as strongly as it has, jerseys will have logos.

I don't like it, but if you seriously believe owners are going to hold off on that money making opportunity forever you're in for a rude awakening.
