does play always stop when a penalty is committed?

Not necessarily. The ref can allow the team fouled to continue play if it has the advantage (ie, fast break-type situation), and then call the foul on a delay if nothing develops. That's what the announcers were discussing on the German yellow card.

Not looking great for US so far. Germany dominating possession/play.

Is it still 0-0?  I have no feed.

Yes. Guessing possession has been about 80/20 Germany so far. Several dangerous crosses. Into the 20th minute.

They're more aggressive, faster, bigger, etc. Still 0-0.

Most importantly, they're more precise with their passing and under control with the ball.

Possession at 63-37 Germany. 182 completed passes for Germans compared to 83 for U.S.  :frown:

Zusi decent shot just above the crossbar. May be a counterattack opportunity for US later on down the edges (_FAN style).

I missed it earlier, but why is Dempsey wearing a yellow arm band?

Referee is out of his depth in this game. Missing calls, running into players.
