the announcers in soccer are really good at making me know when to look up at the screen because a goal is about to be scored maybe (but probably not).

some of the games the crowd seems to be too loud and the announcers too quiet.

the fact that you can bring noise making devices into the games is pretty lol

If you ain't dutch you ain't much.

Dutch people in Michigan actually said this!
my brother in law grew up with a guy from a Dutch family. they said it all the time with regards to soccer. that is where I got it from.

so this reminds me how awful dutch people in Michigan were. They were all super white and blonde.

Legend has it that at the local Dutch church used to call kids with brown hair "Black Dutch". :sdeek:

Bro in law went over to Europe to futbol. he said the English were the most annoying folks to play against. said other nations were cool as crap.

required for contrast reasons - makes it easier on refs and players.  especially since players out of bounds can still actively participate in play.  also temporarily injured players may be pulled off the field and the ref has to let them back in

they should make them wear NBA style warmups then. More for the apparel companies to sell. I mean Fifa really does some janky crap.

Dunno about World Cup, but think they're also allowed to wear a designated shirt as well

Yeah I saw our subs changing shirts when it was time to go in. The vests look like the pinnies I bought from Amazon for my kids' soccer team. It wouldn't bother me if this wasn't THE BIGGEST SPORTING EVENT IN THE WORLD

Serious world cup uniform question here:  Why does one US jersey have a collar, but the other one does not?  Is there non-aesthetic reason for that?

rus, here's one that always gets me and i thought i would ask you about it on here.  i think your take may be interesting.  did you know that fifa doesn't have a standard size field?

Law 1 – the field of play
Dimensions
The length of the touch line must be greater than the length of the goal line.

Length (touch line):
* minimum 90 m (100 yds)
* maximum 120 m (130 yds)

Width (goal line):
* minimum 45 m (50 yds)
* maximum 90 m (100 yds)

imagine if the nba/nfl had different court/field sizes at different stadiums

yeah it would be almost as crazy as if MLB allowed different field sizes.
