hey team usa, are you ready to play the biggest game of your life?
nope, need 24 more hours.  now beat it.
im not saying we cant "get up" for the game, but im under the impression that fresh legs are a pretty big deal in soccer.

lsiq btw

this isn't about 4 days being enough, it's about the measurable advantage that 24 extra hours gives germany.  the discussion is an idiotic one brought forth by a lower divisional poster.
okay, no goemawing here 1 less day for besler and jozy(i know he is a long shot to even play again) to get healthy sucks
Jozy doesn't get one less day. this game was always on Thursday and he didn't play the last match.

They only run like 10 miles in a match.  Pretty pud.
more like 3. I think the most I've seen is 6km.

This is highly inaccurate.

Which?

SDK's, although I don't think 10 miles happens either. 6-8 miles is pretty typical I think.

I saw some stats of subs coming off and they were averaging about a 10 minute mile, so 100 minutes x 10 minutes / mile = 10 miles.  Anyway, pretty pud.

They don't run the entire game, though. It's not pee wee soccer where everyone is just a big mass of bodies chasing down the ball that somebody booted the wrong way down the pitch.

The stats are presented as distance covered over the length of time.  So the average is deduced.  It's not to imply people are running the entire time.  This is pretty simple stuff, not sure why you don't get it.

yes. i checked. average is around 7. so a 10k per game. i ran 5ks in high school in 18 minutes. i don't think the running is what requires the rest. i think it's the getting kicked/tackled/falling down. :duno:

I hope those fuckers caught a beating

Something I have noticed about the announcers, that I've only noticed mentioned with regards to black players or African teams, is comments about keeping composure, and other psychological attributes.  Like we will see if they can be "well spoken" type stuff. Anyone else notice this?

They were probably stupid enough to think that one Ghana fan was in "white face" and used it as justification?

I'm going to cheer a lot.  I will teach my friends the official Chilean cheers and such (even the curse ones).  Will drape self in flag.  Will serve pisco.

Super racist fans.  According to a radio news thing a while back, Spain was actually looking into some way of legislating against this stuff after several instances of fans throwing bananas on the field during corner kicks by black players.

rough ridin' unreal.
