Recession?

1st quarter gdp revised to a 1% contraction.

Thank goodness Kansas has been somewhat shielded from these sad economic times.

The Obama presidency has been a trainwreck on just about every level imaginable.

I sometimes try to think what even liberals would view as "accomplishments" (he is still polling at 40% and is unlikely to drop much further). Here's what I've come up with:
- First black president (this honestly seems to be the most important and redeeming aspect of the Obama presidency to liberals)
- Advancing gay rights (a very close second)
...
- Two reliably liberal SC picks.
- Helping to grow the future Dem base through unfettered illegal immigration
- Obamacare (not sure if many liberals actually believe this is a good thing)?

I mean, 8 years and that's what we got at the cost of more than doubling our national debt, a stagnant economy, a world that's even more dangerous and unstable than before, and badly diminished global influence.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

Got us out of iraq

The drawdown in troop levels began under Bush. Obama just finished the job, pulling out all troops without negotiating a status of forces agreement, and that's working out just peachy, isn't it? But you're right, liberals probably do view this as an Obama "accomplishment." In fact, just a few years ago Joe Biden said that Iraq would be viewed as one of Obama's "greatest achievements."

Because they are overwhelmingly impoverished, and the impoverished overwhelmingly vote Democrat. They will vote for the party that will buy their votes with welfare and amnesty.

So the republicans already have nearly 30% of the Hispanic vote despite every effort to lose it? That is pretty good, if you ask me. Maybe they should stop villainizing immigration so they have a chance at winning that demographic.

You don't seem to be understanding the numbers above. The Republicans have no (realistic) chance of ever "winning" that demographic because they will never be able to out-pander the Democrats. Even if Republicans were to get, say, 45% of that demographic, it's a net loss.

So if by "stop villianizing" you mean adopting an open borders and amnesty, that's a recipe for suicide for the Republican party (also the country, by the way, which is already dead-ass broke, but that's another matter).

Maybe they could make it possible for the typical hard-working Mexican citizen who is vital to the US economy to obtain citizenship.

The Hispanics that have immigrated to the US legally over many years are for the most part opposed to abortion and illegal immigration, and are proud of their accomplishments.

Turns out, the dramatic revision to GDP from a .1% increase to a 2.9% decrease is just due to moving Obamacare money around.

As this ZeroHedge article explains, healthcare spending increased by a staggering $40 billion last quarter, which is the only reason why last quarter initially posted any increase in GDP at all, albeit a measly .1%. Now, that money has been magically moved from Q1 to Q2, resulting in the downward revision to Q1. They're just moving the money around - money that wouldn't even be spent but for Obamacare. And what do you think moving that money into Q2 will do for GDP (right before the election)?  :whistle1:
