On another note I think T. Newman just got replaced.

Not immediately, it's kind of the end of the road anyway, he's started for 11 seasons straight and he'll be 36 by the time the season starts

next to todd blackledge, alex smith is the worst thing to ever happen to this franchise and that's saying a lot.
Jesus.  :dubious: Maybe give him some guys to throw to. He's nowhere as awful as you and cf3 make him out to be. He does have an experation date on him tho.

Not having that 2nd round pick cost the Chiefs JFF

Also is it possible that the Chiefs drafted that dude for someone else and they will eventually trade him for a 2nd round pick? This happens a lot in the NBA draft, I have no idea about the NFL draft.

I could be wrong here, but doesn't creating legal trades by packaging pay-slotted draft picks and expiring contracts play a role in that?  I think that's what drives the NBA having to wait a few hours to approve trades before they are announced.

The Browns Last Three 1st Round QB Picks: 2014, Johnny Manziel - 22nd 2012, Brandon Weeden - 22nd 2007, Brady Quinn - 22nd

They always have the draft spot to take the best QB available but they keep ending up towards the end of the first round taking the 3rd, 4th, or 5th best guy. Of course JFF was the 2nd guy taken this year but even the most strident Manziel fans will admit that he is a bit of a risk.

We picked up some lil crap this year from the Canadian league for WR. That was the Chiefs off season. I mean my god, but that Alex Smith guy, eff him!

Fanning. Stop it. He's mediocre, but you want to act like he's Aaron Rodgers. We had a chance to be great and we're disappointed. Can't you see that?

Who starts at QB for Chiefs in 2015?  Kirk Cousins? Christian Ponder? Sam Bradford? What other 2014 backup is going to have a good run when their starter gets hurt?

He's not the problem right now. We averaged 30 points down the stretch (last 8 games). He did that as the 2nd leading rusher and with a shitty overpaid WR who did crap. You guys aren't this short minded, are you?

Not having an elite quarterback has been this franchise's #1 problem since Lenny the cool went full time over at channel 9.

After watching the Royals get beat down for the 20th straight summer, KC fans are just happy to get beat on the road in the 1st round every 3 or 4 years.

I admire Fanning's zeal for Alex.  While I don't think he's the problem, if you're not gonna surround him with playmakers he is screwed.

And fwiw, the defense lost that playoff game.  Quit being dumbasses and blaming Alex for that.

Yeah, that was Smiths fault. He had the best game of his career and somehow he's the one who mumped up the 28 point lead. :flush:

I don't care what Smith did last year.  I don't really care what Smith does next year because they aren't winning a playoff game.  I care about who starts at QB in 2015 and right now the Chiefs are planning on rolling out another serviceable QB who doesn't make plays so the fans can again say "it's not his fault their aren't other playmakers for him to throw to overcome his inability to make plays."

The reason having Alex Smith sucks is because the schedule set up nicely for any QB to win games last, but the deal set it up so this year they don't have a 2nd round pick to use to try and get a Bridgewater or Carr.

I'm just in ah that some of my favorite bbs'rs think some raw qb is the answer. I mean we need to draft one sometime soon, but you're stretching a bit, bitching about a pro bowl qb who made it there w/ nothing? You know it's true too. We're in the best spot we've been in since Green. Did you want to be last years Jets or something? :dunno: We need playmakers and I'm floored that I can barely name a few.
