The Cubs, along with the Astros, have a lot of young talent and should be good going forward, but that Jon Lester contract is going to haunt them.

Well, these 3 games by the Cubs are uncharacteristic, they are good. However the Mets don't have any BP pitchers like we've seen the last 2 games in Toronto, and will get a quality start every night. Over a game, or even a 5 game series, the Cubs power would scare me, but over a 7 game series a team that can get a quality start every night scares me more. Cubs is better matchup for a Royals parade

the Mets offense will be worse when Dan Murphy stops doing his Barry Bomds impersonation. Almost as strange as Alciedes' run right now.

going into the playoffs last year, everyone was afraid of the royals, remember? well this year it was the winner of the cubs/pirates game. and the cubs showed it by mopping up the cardinals. so i am a little surprised at the cubs looking like losers vs the mets. why are they so good all of a sudden? cespedes and murphy being on fire i guess.

have you ever seen d'Arnaud's batting stance? i have no idea how he ever gets a hit. he holds the bat handle way out in front, with the bat head straight up in the air, leaning slightly back towards the catcher. so weird.

I think the Royals philosophy of playing for contact will work much better against Mets' pitchers than the Cubs home run/strikeout philosophy.

I mean, the Cubs are a good team, but it was hard to see them winning the series after losing a game that Arrietta started. They needed great starts in the cold by Lester and Arrietta and didn't get it.

losing an Arrietta start was pretty much a death sentence, but we shall see.
