I agree baseball's unwritten rules are dumb, disagree with the suspension.

If Tejada doesn't do an awkward spin, its a non-issue, and Utley's been sliding that way his entire career. Also, he was called safe and not thrown out of the game, but they are reacting to a very public injury to a key Mets player. They haven't suspended those types of plays, ever, but now they set a precident? Not fair to Utley. They've been allowing contact plays there forever, injuries are gonna happen. Off season is time to address the rule.

Dirty plays are punished in every other sport, why should baseball be an exception? I am fully in favor of this ruling. It was a bush league slide and Utley shouldn't be rewarded for it.

1. The play happens all the time, the MLB is being reactionary. If they were truly concerned about this type of play, guys would be suspended all the time.

2. The player was called SAFE by MLB officials in New York City, and not ejected from the game.
