It's not for lack of trying.  We offered Victor to get Semi, and they pulled a fast one on us.

we just had a very average local kid log roughly 3,600 minutes over the course of his career, having started nearly every game beginning with his sophomore year.  i can't imagine why a kid like clark would want to come here.

K-State missed out on yet another Kansas recruit, this time not to the team to the east. Michigan State came in a took a recruit right out from underneath oscar Weber's nose.

This is a double whammy.
#1  He's actually a Missouri kid who transferred to Sunrise and reclassified.  Pretty strange situation.
#2  He played for Mokan so they  control the recruiting.

Manny Dies continues to be the Sunflower State product all other KS kids are measured by

Rereading my posts, I am curious as to why it sounds like I don't understand that?  I fully get locking down in state talent worth having.

Rereading my posts, I am curious as to why it sounds like I don't understand that?  I fully get locking down in state talent worth having.

Splitting the state with Kansas makes getting good instate talent really difficult to land. Selling out of state kids has always seemed easier.

In the last 30 years I think 8 Kansans have gone to the NBA (Steve Henson, Gaylon Nickerson, Wayne Simien, Matt Freije, Earl Watson, Paul Shirley, Muarice Evans, and Danny Manning -- and Manning wasn't really from Kansas).  There were some other Kansans from that era who shone at the college level: Taj Gray, Val Barnes, Kris Weems, B.J. Williams, Manny Dies, Perry Ellis, Cauley-Stein.  Semi could be one of these guys, I'm sure.  I'm also sure I'm missing 3-4 others.

That's about 20 high-quality players in 30 years.  Only three went to KSU.  Only four went to KU, and that's counting Manning, who transferred to Lawrence High as a package deal with this dad.

It would be very nice to just count on this level of player going to KSU, but surpisingly enough neither school really has the state "locked down."

I agree, the best pros that were really products of the state are Evans and Watson and maybe the Kansas guy with the 3rd best NBA career was Adrian Griffin out of Wichita East that managed to stick in the league for 6 or 7 years. 

As much as I wish Ron Baker was a Cat it is very enlightening to see that KU has been a top 10 program for the last 25+ years and Simen's short run with Heat is the best instate NBA guy they have had.

didn't gE poster and Scott City native CAS inform us Baker grew up a KU fan?  I imagine Bill could find a way to get Baker to Lawrence if that scenario plays out.  Hell, it wouldn't be the worst idea for Baker to graduate from WSU early and do it anyway.

6'3" 215ish, he does not strike me as an NBA player at all.

ESPN has him at 6-3, 213. 

I was impressed with how he was able to play point vs UK when Van Fleet was in foul trouble and he did a nice job of staying in front of which ever Harrison twin he was defending even if he had to just let them shoot over him after they put a shoulder in to him
