Otherwise, the ppl that you would want to bring with you on your weekends wouldn't come because they have their own weekends. Also, that way you can get super mean with the other owners through the HOA if they are slacking on their responsibilities.

Lake houses. Idea for future is to buy one, sell six or seven shares to it to others, create an HOA'ey type thing for the one house and hire maint through some caretaker. Be the one to set it all up, overvalue your share over the others by ownership %, and get what you want, where you want, when you want while six or seven other owners help you pay for it and argue over the left over share times.
