One and done (again).
« on: March 21, 2014, 11:41:15 PM »

I thought the Cats needed to hit 3s and stay within 7% on OR% and FTR to win this game and they did neither, so the result isn't a surprise. Shane did a few things in the 2nd half, but like most of this season, it wasn't enough. Will ended his career with a whimper. Those are really the only 2 losses of significance.

If Edwards and Hurt and/or Bolden can come in and contribute and you get a normal 3/4 guys making decent improvements next year should be a better team that should contend for the Top 4 (at least) in the league and be in the NCAAs again. And oscar needs to win a tournament game.

Is that our lowest PPP of the year, it's gotta be right? Would be interesting to compare it to the past several years and see how it stacks up, maybe similar to that ugly game at Florida? Just watching the game I thought our 1st half D was better, but the stats don't reflect that. I don't like to blame it on any single player, but it hurts when your seniors don't step up like we've become accustomed to with mcgruder and pullen. And once again great title _fan!

Yes, worst this season.

Others that were worse in the last 5 seasons: 13 vs Gonzaga, 12 vs Kansas, 11 vs Florida.

We had 41 pts in 57 poss and 36.5eFg...with 1:00 left. I expected the big edge in OR% by UK. And said we had to counter it winning TO by 3-5%.  We won it by 8%.

This game was lost cause we got out shot by UK. They made 43% 2pt, 26% 3pt, 67% FT... And we sadly shot worse.

Score was 35 33...and we got 7 pts in the 13:50.

Never good when u have 2Fgs 2 FTs and 4TOs in almost  14 min.

Wow that is pathetic. Watching our offense at times this year has been so painful.

was at the game. i've never seen such a glaring difference in size/length/athleticism. at every position they were significantly taller and longer than us. kentucky truly underachieved this year.

seems like if we would have shot better things could have changed, but it was just another game where i never felt like we had a chance. oscar needs to win a tournament game because this crap sucks and LaSalle did happen, but he had far inferior talent to work with last night.

Even on TV, we looked like an outmatched mid-major.  It's ridiculous.

Sunvold was on 810 with KK and said the exact same thing about UK height and length..especially the Harrison twins.  Said when he saw them in person he couldn't believe how tall they all appeared

Next year the biggest issue to "fix" is the dramatic change in this team from the OOD to the road. IMO that starts with the offense, but our defense was pretty bad away from the OOD as well. Our offensive PPP must increase by .05-.07 ppp (I'd like to see it around 1.10 ppp) compared to decreasing our defense by .03-.04 (1.02 or so is reasonable to win games) against Top 100 competition.

I think the requirement should be sweet sixteen with a top 3 finish in B12.  Anything less is underachieving imo.  That should be the bottom requirement.
