This board is just as poor of a cross section of society as gpc is, just a slightly younger demo. And like that board many posters who have the most to say have the most insular, homogenized life experiences.
society at large? because that is obvious. cross section of ksu fans? wrong.
how great of a cross section can you get with a small sample of a already small sample?
Yes, seven, kinda speaks to my point. From my perspective what is the difference between a 52 year old accountant from Topeka and a 34 year old financial analyst from Newton? The difference between us and the our peer group at GPC is that the board admins allow the frequent posters to self-police and set the tone. It's a popular thought that the posters are different than GPC posters and that just isn't true, we just have better mods.
Now in the interest of full disclosure this observation, while I stand by it, is born out of butthurt from experiencing the same frustrations I had when I decided to stop posting on GPC, other than emawgeddon letting me see the light that I was bankrolling Fitz and the despicable things that he does.
I can't off of the top of my head recall the number of posters I have called racist, MAYBE jtksu and FSD (jeffy), yet it is becoming a weekly occurrence that I'm being told that all I do is call people racist and play the race card. Guess I'm playing it now. I make no apologies about my opinions but it gets really old consistently being called angry and racist. I mean I know most people on the board know that I'm neither but it just gets tiring having to be conscious of what I say and preparing to receive a certain reaction. No one else has to worry about that. In the case here and at GPC it wasn't the "old racist Western Kansas farmers" that were the worst about this. Not looking for sympathy, pity, special treeatment, etc., just sharing my opinion.
