K-State Ghost Stories
« on: March 04, 2014, 10:56:59 PM »
Was told a story tonight from a friend who knew a janitor who worked in Ahearn. He said that the janitors try to clear out of Ahearn before midnight because some spooky crap happens up in there. The janitor said that it was when he had started working there he would lock up the building and shut everything down and then go work out in the basement before he went home for the evening. Well one night when he had done all that, he heard some sounds going on upstairs, so he went to investigate. As he got closer, he heard that it was basketball's being dribbled in the gym in the west part of the building. When he went to look he heard basketballs everywhere, but it was pitch dark and he couldn't see into the gym. He also said it was cold as eff and could see his breath. He was so creeped out that he just left the building without locking the doors behind him. The next day told that his boss talked to him the next day that he needs to lock everything up. The dude explained what had happened and his boss said that stuff like that is only the tip of the iceberg. Now he makes sure that he leaves the building before any of that stuff happened.

This really ruined my night and I def but kind of want to go to Ahearn and see what happens.

 :ohno:

Does anyone else hear stuff like this about Ahearn, or other places on campus? I kinda know about the Old Stadium but dont know the details.

Nick, east side of Memorial stadium.
Once walked through the top floor corridor with a bunch of theatre majors late one night.  This crazy lady had a funky ass candle, lit it, started to talk to Nick, and Nick promptly slapped that crap outta her hands and everyone went running.  Pretty funny.

My dad stayed up late one night at the library (with two kids at the time), thought about dropping out, and then saw a image of Jesus. He said that's why he continued on. Jesus is a confirmed emaw fwiw.

Many steam tunnel stories abound, but all of them are too decadent and disgusting to detail them here. Family site, you know.

Not campus, but one time the owner of Kathouse was opening up for the day and a guy came in (this is about 4pm or 5pm) and ordered a beer. Sat at the bar and talked with the owner for a bit. The owner went to turn on some lights on the stage and came back a minute later and the guy at the bar was pale as could be. The guy stares at the owner for a while, kind of stutters and finally spits out,

"Have you ever had any weird stuff happen in here?"
"Well, it's a bar. Yeah, we have weird stuff happen every weekend"
"I mean like, ghost stuff"
"Yeah we've had a couple things. The light switches being flipped randomly and stuff like that. Why?"
"I swear to you a guy straight out of the 1950's, with a full suit and top hat, came up to the bar and stood here like he was about to order a drink. I turned to look and see what you were doing, and when I looked back he was gone"

He sat there for another 10 minutes, never touched his beer again, paid for it and left. Owner swears he as stone sober when he came in and only had about a third of his beer by this time.

Since then it's been discovered that someone had committed suicide in that building decades ago. Weird stuff with light switches and fans still happens on a regular basis.

Was also told that at least one ghost in Ahearn is a guy who died while he was bench pressing, and he dropped the bar on his chest crushing it and killing him.

Spooky stuff

Considering when your dad attended school most young men had long hair and beards, smoked weed and wandered aimlessly.  Pretty sure this is what your dad saw :bigtoke:
