Was it even called Africa when we were from there?  I mean, like California used to be Mexico, ya know?  And no way Arnold Schwarzenegger is Mexican.  Food for thought guys.

How does he pronounce Hans?  Probably all mumped and weird.  Maybe like Ains with a silent H and a hard A.

Stress fracture in his back. Out for the P66, and likely at least part of the NCAA.

I love how all the posters are already mailing it in regarding the NCAA tourney...If we can't get past first weekend without him then we weren't going far anyway. KU will be just fine, just wait and see.

I agree with tim. We shouldn't welch on this team so quickly.

How does one get a stress fracture?  Could it be from pushing yourself farther than you should?

Maybe, when they told the story in BITB about how Self made Joel cry from calling him soft during practice, Joel was actually suffering broken bones. :dunno:

I mean, what does Bill Self value more?  Joel's ability to provide for his family, or Bill's own ability to provide for his ego.

ku fans on twitter seem to think stress fractures are no big deal and just a media conspiracy. They would know because ku has a medical school

Get what going?  The thread that was started well in advance of all of this, which accurately predicted precisely what would happen?  No, that one's been going on for a while now ( you are actually posting in it right now!).  You'll need to start a new thread if you merely want to see one "get going."   :users:

I just heard from the father of the team manager that Joel has been hurt for some time now.  Joel
has been asking to fully rest his injury since it happened, the staff has encouraged him to try to
play through it.  After the OSU game Joel told the staff that he would not play again until he felt
healthy.  The manager says that there is no guarantee Embiid will play again this year.

Spracne, did you think I was just making this crap up?  :nono:
it’s not like I’m tired of WINNING, but dude, let me catch my breath.

While Embiid was seeking a second opinion on his back — a second opinion that came at his family’s request — Self was back in Lawrence, sorting through the situation.

Earlier Monday, Self said he couldn’t envision a scenario in which Embiid wouldn’t play in the NCAA Tournament. His back has felt better over the last week, Self said, and Embiid has begun to run in a pool to maintain his conditioning.

Myron and everyone else is jumping to conclusions. A stress fracture is a pretty minor injury, and once healed makes the bone stronger than it was before. After three weeks of rehab and healing, I'm sure it won't be much of a risk to have him playing. You can't really make the injury any worse, only delay the healing process. If there is no risk in playing him a few games in the NCAA tourney, then why not do it and let him finish the healing process throughout the summer?
