the talking points brought up in this thread are stupid. each one of those stereotypes are perpetuated by crazies.
your average wrestler does not ever contract a skin disease, because they shower after practices and competition like a normal person. I never once contracted a skin disease over the ten years I wrestled.
your average wrestler will drain cauliflower ear if they develop it, I did.
your average wrestler does not diet/ cut extreme amounts of weight. I cut a few pounds as an underclassmen to fill an open varsity spot, but I didn't need to cut after that season.
comparing wrestling to basketball, and the athletes that participate in the sports, is stupid. they are quite different sports and require quite different skill sets. those wrestlers who bad-talk basketball players, are the wrestlers who couldn't make the basketball team and went out for wrestling as a second choice.
tobacco use and steroid use

I never once gave or received a ball grabbing, or a balls to face during my wrestling career. However, I did have my balls grabbed at the bottom of piles during football on more than one occasion.
tl/ dr: the detractors in this thread don't know what they are talking about and need to shut their dumb, fat faces.
