Has a university or student body ever complained about having too much tailgating space or places to park?

The best tailgating locations in the NFL have a lot of asphalt.  I've never viewed parking space as a negative.

I kind of enjoyed the tailgating experience at Auburn. If K-State would let people tailgate all over campus like that, I think I'd prefer an on-campus location without much parking. What we have is great, too, though.

As someone who lives out of town, I enjoy being able to roll up to my parking spot every gameday.  I think it would be a giant pain in the ass to fight for parking on a side street every weekend and not have room to set up my tailgate.  Also, I love being able to go back out to my tailgate at halftime to throw down a couple more beers and throw more food in my belly.  I would not be able to do this if I parked on a side street 5 blocks away and make it back in by kickoff.  It's also really fun getting to know the people who park around you every weekend and knowing where others park every weekend as well.  If I lived in Manhattan and was walking distance from the stadium, I'm sure I would feel differently.

Getting out of that Auburn traffic was a disaster after the game. It took an hour and a half to get back to the main strip. I'm sure the campus thing has something to do with it. I loved my experience there, but I couldn't put up with that every week.

I laughed at this.  KU is the least 'online' school of all the Regents universities.  Why put in the effort when Kansas City is right there?

Same with OU who uses the same strategy. It was awful.

Thats like giving money to a drug addict who is asking for it to buy some food.  You know the addict is going to buy more drugs.  In this case, KU will buy more basketball things.

He's used to judging stadiums when they are empty.  Empty parking is not fun looking.  Huge tailgates are but he struggles to picture that at Memorial.

Stillwater does this as well. It's cool in the fact that you could drink beer in front of the business hall but it was a pain in the ass to find other groups seeing as they were spread all over the campus. I like our more condensed setting. "Hey, where are you?", you answer East lot, West lot, or Ag fields. Nice and simple.

I couldn't imagine anything more depressing than a huge, nearly empty parking lot at Memorial right before a conference football game. Those hardy few true blue fans would be out there working their grills, sweat beading down their faces, dripping off their noses, sizzling when it hits the pavement. One man waves at another 40 yards across the lot. The other man comes over to say hello.

"Plenty of food on the grill, if you'd like a bite. We always try to cook enough to feed our friends in blue."

"Why thanks," he responds, as he cracks open a Bud Light, "but I reckon I've had enough. Do you like our chances?"

"Well, they never seem to be good lately, but we always have a chance. I just pray that I get to see the day this lot is full before I die."

"Amen to that. Amen to that."

What's funny to me is that I was totally jealous when it looked like they were gonna do that and now after the west side we did, I realize what a crap pile the gridiron club would have been.

guys since we don't have a mythology built on a stolen game to secure our sports's ego, what do you say we take up some of our parking lot space to build a structure to Nike Cortez shoes?
