If we can finish strong and win a game in the NCAAs it wouldn't surprise me at all if we sell out of season tickets next year. ~10 games for $99 is a steal.

Seems like a great way to fill up the GA corner since the students aren't showing up. If we were sitting at 8-9 K sold tickets this year there would be a concern, but we're still over 12K sold so I'm not real concerned.

And basketball is still really fun for me. Last weekend's games against UT/KU was one of the most fun Big 12 weekends I can remember as a fan.

I think _FAN is right, this is more of a telling sign of their expectation to the students not filling their sections as opposed to their thoughts of ticket sales overall moving forward.

i wonder if ADJC hired oscar in an effort to slow student ticket sales so he could then reduce the number of student seats and then sell those seats to higher paying customers in an effort to offset increased medical bills due to a higher number of shots being administered to our players?

Last weekend's games against UT/KU was one of the most fun Big 12 weekends I can remember as a fan.

Smart of KSU to not include those games in this year's or next year's Wildcat Victory Plan package.  Tomorrow's TCU tilt on the other hand...

The amount of money that K-State will make off of this promo is a drop in the bucket to their overall budget. It has much more to do with filling seats for games when fans who live 2+ hours away don't want to make the trip on a Tuesday night to watch K-State play South Dakota.

Outside of the KU game, the two biggest crowds this season were for games that had special promotions for GA tickets - GW and OSU. As long as the student section remains half full I hope they keep doing this.

Even though technically those seats are sold to students, they are still getting a few more dollars and fans in the seats in that section 24-25 corner that they usually don't. The problem would be if a bunch of students suddenly decided to show up for one of these games, but apparently it hasn't been a problem and probably won't.

If the goal is to fill against crap teams and the budget part of those seats don't mean anything, then they would be better off donating them to Ft riley or the B&G club or something.  Selling 10-13 games for $99 makes it no big deal if you miss the first 5-7 games in most ppl's mind.

K-State is rolling the dice on this tho. What if we play Texas on a Tuesday or Wednesday next year? We played OU on a Tuesday...This year's package also included Ole Miss and GW.

Those three games alone are worth well over half the price of the package. It wouldn't surprise me at all if we hosted a marquee noncon game next year either.

I think the students would have had much better attendance this season if oscar wouldn't have lost a home game to Northern Colorado, but yeah. Our students didn't show up against shitty teams when Frank was the coach, either.

No doubt, that loss hurt student attendance. But as you said, even since we've been good, that corner of GA seats has often been empty. I have no problem with K-State trying to get some more fans in those seats.

And honestly while the B&G club and Ft Riley sounds like a good idea, I don't think you'd get many people to show up with those. You are much more likely to get fans in those seats doing this plan IMO.

Doing that once or twice a year is one thing, but you can't devalue your product to the point where you are giving away inventory for free for over half the schedule.

I don't think the goal here is to get the arena full, but rather to make it less empty. Getting 300-500 more people in the door for games can make a big difference to how the stands look. Fans in GA really spread out and those sections are usually nowhere near capacity.

Yep, we're both saying it's "smart" of KSU to try to imply to the dumber KSU fans that it's urgent to pay $99-159 for tickets to these 9+ games.  If they can get a few thousand bucks for simply adding a few emails to the rotation, why not? 

Has anyone besides CNS and or without full season tickets paid to go to a non-con or mid-week-non-ku-conference game?
