Man I'm glad for his sake #LIFE stopped posting, that sounds like a guy who thinks it should be okay to say n-word because they say it in rap music.

I didn't for a second think that that guy called Smart a n-word. When I heard Ford say he didn't know what happened that was the first indication that he thought what Orr said to Smart didn't justify what happened. If that guy called Smart a n-word or told him to go back to Africa & Ford didn't defend his player he should be fired tomorrow.

I can't stand Marcus Smart but his suspension shouldn't exceed 1 game.

The ESPN coverage of this is absolutely embarrassing, a low point for sports media, makes me sad to be a j-school grad.

Big 12 coordinator of officials Curtis Shaw told ESPN that the officials don't have jurisdiction to eject a player who is involved in an altercation with a fan.

"There is no precedent for that," Shaw said. "Our rules are for flagrant (foul) 1 or 2. We don't have grounds for dealing with a fan. We don't have a rule to get involved when the player is involved with a fan. We don't know what was said. The official, Doug Sirmons, didn't know what was said."

Shaw said anything involving a fan is up to the host school.

"That's up to the security of the home team and the conference," Shaw said. "We've never had a fan with a player incident before."

Regardless of what the fan in question said (it was obviously wrong), Marcus Smart is absolutely 100% wrong for the way he handled it and there really isn't a positive way to spin what he did.

I don't buy the racist angle. If you watch the video the two guys helping smart up don't react at all. If he had dropped an N-bomb or told smart to "go back to Africa"  I would imagine their heads would've snapped.

A little. ya. and his teammates aren't helping. Cobbins being lost for the year was a horrible break. Otherwise, Smart brings a lot of this on himself because because they know they can get to him.
