so my facebook has been flooded with nostalgia pics every since friday

here is "Big Dave" and the rest of the state track team.  a sophmore ast might be in this picture 



oh, and you can guess who Big Dave is, i don't want to give it away

the shoe to person and even sock to person ratio in this picture is very low.

so Big Dave's funeral was a smashing success today.  the highpoint was probably our old basketball coach, here was part of his talk

he was telling stories about Dave and then brought up a game we played against a very average team that had 1 black kid (his words not mine, don't go all pc on me) who happened to be very good.  the story goes that we were playing well below are capabilities that night and we werw getting beat by a team that we should be beating.  anyways a timeout is called and dave goes up to coach

Dave-"coach everytime i turn around i have a black penis in my face, he's everywhere"
Coach-"the way you guys are playing, you deserve to have a black penis in your face"

understandably so, all the mourners erupted in laughter, after the initial gasps that is

it was a nice celebration, saw a few faces i hadn't seen in 20+ years

One of the best teachers in our high school had three boys and we were friends with the family. One of them tried to kill himself earlier this week. No more details to share on here right now, but I will share more in a couple of days. I feel horribly crappy for the family. Man, if anybody is thinking about doing that, don't. PM me and I will call you, or somebody will call you. It just isn't that bad. Your family and friends care for you and they deserve better than that.

You are god damn right dobber.  If any you turds even flirts with the idea of offing yourself just don't.  Mrs. Bf's aunt had her first husband do this and then a year later this poor woman's eldest son (20yr old) did the same thing because of all the greif caused by the father's death.  It is not the answer.

I had one today. My Uncle passed last saturday. They're so awkward. I haven't seen my cousins in like a year, they come up and hug you, and what do you say? "How are you doing?" I mean, you know the answer. Like crap! Anyways, here's to uncle Dan.  Fought in the Vietnam War, won several combat medals, including a purple heart. Got his MBA, Worked for the government with computer programming, drank a case of bud light a day, and several packs of smokes and still made it to 67.

They did! The priest was on fire. He got some good laughs from the crowd. I was fine until the 21 gun salute and when they handed the american flag to my aunt. That will do it for everyone.

Yeah, Taps is called that because it is like opening up the taps to your tear ducts. Did the 21 gun salute and Taps at my Dad's funeral. It was awesome and horrible all at the same time.
Sorry about your uncle. Sounds like an awesome dude who would storm the court and stuff.

Lost a friend this weekend.  Depression is no joke.  How can it be so bad that this seems like the only way?   Don’t assume everything is okay just because they put on a happy face and act “normal”.
