Steve Dave: just not that into you aka out of your league: you think this person is out of your league, so you say things you wouldn't normally say, maybe stumble on your words a little bit, you are taken aback.  you feel you are in competition with everyone else to get their attention.  you notice your nice guy and ego fluffing has no affect on them.. they've heard all the lines before and you are just a blip on their radar.. so you start to get frustrated and start acting like an bad person, they "hate" it but you are so different now from everyone they can't help but feel strongly towards you.. nobody talks or acts that way towards them, you have their attention. their friends wonder what they see in you but they become so blinded by your strength and charisma that you can do no wrong. you break them down emotionally until you have them in the palm of your hands.. you are their leader, their rock, guide them..
