Accidentally Texting Wrong Person
« on: January 10, 2014, 12:34:38 PM »
Who has done this?

I have.

This came up at my lunch conversation today, and we wondering just how bad some accidental textings have been.  Have to be some really bad ones out there.

Mine was just kinda embarrassing, but not too bad.  I texted Rick Daris some sweat nothings meant for my special lady friend ("miss you baby" type stuff).  He was super cool about it and texted me back something along the lines of "....I miss my arms around you" so I didn't feel as bad.  Great guy.

Then, this got me thinking that it would be kinda fun to just eff with people that way.  The best would be if you could get your hands on a buddy's phone and then just text really messed up bits of conversations to their parents and stuff.  Like text his "mom" something along the lines of "don't forget to take down the sex swing before the cleaning lady comes over," followed by a quick "whoops, meant that for someone else" text.

Good times.

In college I was going to my slampiece's house, and my bro texted me and asked if I wanted to go binge to which I replied "you always text me right before I'm getting laid" but somehow it went to the girl instead. When I got to her house she was not happy

I think what my friend Mitch is trying to say is that true love is blind.

Hmmmm, I missed that.  That's not really that funny, because your parents would probably put you into some sort of drug program, which would be horribly inconvenient.  Great way to meet people, though!

In my single days I would do it sometimes on purpose to make another slampiece jelly. It worked very well

along the same lines...

TTHOTUCbro (age 12-14 at the time) got a call on his cell phone from my mom accidentally while the phone was in her pocket. TTHOTUCbro came home and said "mom! stop booty calling me!"

Not a text but an email. An admin intended to email "when are you going to F me again" to one of the higher-ups, but it went to the wrong "Robert" due to auto populate. Somehow the only person that got fired over the whole deal was the intended recipient's secretary for gossiping about it.

Also at a week-long conference my female co-worker sent a text to our male boss that she meant for her husband: good night, I love you. Thankfully we all are good friends and we just gave her a bunch of crap about it.

In college I once texted one of my roommates "Tgook Jr." at like 2:30 in the morning, I have no idea who it was meant for or what it meant.

Had a buddy text me telling me how much he loved me and thanking me for the great sex we'd had that morning/night before (was intended for his wife obvs).  Wasn't sure how to play it (respond with something funny or pretend like I didn't get it).  He eventually figured it out.  It was after 84-68 so we were both like "LOL Go 'Cats"
Wondering who is running this hot dog stand and seriously considering heading out for tacos.

One of my friends has a guy in his classes whos a big goof, and doesn't seem to wear deodorant. so one particular steamy may afternoon he was pretty ripe, sitting near my friend. so my friend meant to text me "man, ___ is extra smelly today" but instead sent it to ___.

also one time i was on our office communicator and was chatting with a bro about stocks and I said something like "yeah i've got about 40 shares in blah and 50 in blah and theyre doing well" but somehow sent it to my boss. instead of getting pissed he just said dang whend you buy in? and we chatted about stocks during lunch like pros

One time I was pretty blasted on a wedding in Omaha and me and my buddy get back to the hotel at like 5AM, maybe even later, and we're still all fired up so I call this old flame of mine and put him on the phone pretending to be me.  She didn't buy it and I told him to hang up.  Then I gave him the whole story of how she was this crazy woman but with some nice assets.  Then I realized he didn't actually hang up on her and she heard the whole thing.  Whoops!

my dad recently got a cellphone and learned how to text, and he happens to have the same first name as one of my good friends. anyway i was watching the cats and texted a profane tirade about the bad stuff happening to my dad instead of my pal.

I'm very paranoid about this and check the recipient like 3 times to make sure it's correct.

However, I have never sent a text to the wrong person.

I did get a text from my dad's gf the day they were leaving on vacation that subtlety implied they were going to bang a lot on their trip. Immediately after "whoops, that was meant for my friend ____".
