Kansas State
With only 10 starters returning from a team that went 11-2 in 2012, it was no surprise the Wildcats took a step back in the win column in 2013. But the rest of the Big 12 should be on notice next season. As LHC Bill Snyder has shown throughout his tenure in Manhattan, never count out Kansas State from a surprise run at the Big 12 title. The schedule sets up favorably for the Wildcats, with Texas, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech visiting Manhattan. John Hubert must be replaced at running back, but quarterback Jake Waters is back, along with one of the nation’s top receivers in Tyler Lockett. Kansas State will have to replace both tackles and guard Keenan Taylor, but guard Cody Whitehair and center B.J. Finney is a good duo to build around for 2014. Despite returning only two starters on defense, the Wildcats finished third in the Big 12 in fewest yards allowed per game. This unit will have a few personnel losses, but end Ryan Mueller (11.5 sacks in 2013) is back, along with safety Dante Barnett and linebacker Jonathan Truman.

OU has the perfect schedule next year - KSU, OSU and BU all at home, only @TT is even the least bit scary.  9-3 and the Alamo bowl sounds about right for the 2014 Cats with a ceiling of wining in Waco for 10-2 and the Sugar.

Unless the O-line COMPLETELY blows, we should be better. Our biggest problem this year, IMO, was turnovers and a completely new defense. Both got better as the season went along and you'd like to think some of that will carry over to next year.

Probably tougher schedule so dunno if the record will be substantially better, but the team ought to be.

Texas is an 8-4 (5-3) type team next year imo - Even if we tie with them at 5-3 in conference I can't imagine the Alamo wants them a 3rd year in a row

We won 8 games this year. I think we probably win 9 next year. It's not like I said we are going to suck or something.

Realistically, how many of those listed teams do you expect to beat?  Six?  Seven?
