Fan do you have last years 4 factors for non-con? Would love to compare.

It going to be awesome watching how the addition of Jevon changes our four factors though out the BIG12 season. Also, Def TO%

_fan, how badly do you flip crap when the media guys talk about our game scoring defense without adjusting for pace?

where can I find avg possessions by conference?

Not using stats that account for possessions in the modern world seems silly to me, but I get that its hard to change. I will say I think there is some value in still looking at traditional box score type stats, but I find myself immediately trying to correlate the numbers to stats that account for tempo.

You'd have to go to statsheet or kenpom and figure the conference averages by hand (or spreadsheet), I'm not sure of any site out there that supplies the average. And there is no way the Big 12 pace stays this high, it will eventually slow down. Last year's Big 12 conference games averaged 65.5 possessions.

Barnes is pretty diverse over his career in playing faster/slower. The only explanation I can account for is that he really adjusts for personnel/talent in the program. He's had seasons like this year (72.1 PPG #31, 2010 72.6 #12) and seasons where he slows it way down (2008 64.8 #251, 2006 65.3 #238). His teams are probably more varied and sporadic in possessions per game over his career as any in the Big 12.

I still can't get over the 3pt defense.  I agree with what others have already said; it doesn't look like we should have the numbers we do, but pretty much halfway through the year, the numbers have held.

Interesting stuff.  Thank you for continuing to post this.

This has the makings of a very interesting league race. Granted, the title is KU's to lose probably, but the rest will be a battle. OSU has the talent (even without Coggins) to maybe challenge KU, but I don't think anyone else does.

I've said it before, but the Cats must improve in TO% and OR% differentials. I am surprised at the FTR advantage the Cats are currently gaining though.

Its crazy that BU can block nearly 14% of opponent's 2PT shots and still give up 54.1% on 2PT defense.

How are K-State's PPP on Off and Def the same, yet we've outscored our opponents by 7.4 ppg?

These charts only include stats from Big 12 games. Using only league games gives a more accurate gauge (as the season goes along, more data) of what teams really are because it eliminates OOC SOS from altering each team's numbers.
