Brooklyn HOOPS Festival
« on: December 27, 2013, 09:25:26 PM »
Sandwiched between a stellar match-up between St Johns and Columbia and the nightcap between VCU and Boston College, the Cats prepare to take on the Green Wave of Tulane. I'm sure there will be 10s of fans in the Barclay Center to watch this one.

Notable:

1. We (finally) get to see Jevon Thomas. The bowl game doesn't start until like 9:00. If there is any reason to watch, its this one.

2. Tulane's defense is terrible. Really bad terrible. The Green Wave come in giving up 1.13 points per possession (#333 nationally), 55.6% eFG% (#325), 38.2% on 3pts (#294), and 54.5% on 2pts (#319). The Cats should score at Will.

3. Marcus Foster might dunk on someone again.

4. We get to see Jevon Thomas play.

The only thing Tulane does relatively well is get to the FT line, with a FT rate of 55%, but this is a game K-State should win easily.

Cats 78 - Waves 62

It doesn't matter much.

We must beat GW, then we'll likely have 8-12 games in the Big 12 against Top 50 RPI teams (KU, ISU, OSU, BU, UT, OU). Must win 4-5 of those. Then we'll have 6 against the rest of the league (WVU, Tech, TCU) and we must at least go 5-1 in those, preferably 6-0.

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

I'm trying to recall our last hoops/football gameday.

Of course I'll never forget destroying OU in 03 :emawkid:, but being disappointed with the Cats' 3 OT loss in Corvallis late that night.

I'm disappointed in you.  I'll give you a hint:  "do we get two wins for beating them?"

Guys. Here's how little of a crap people in NOLA give about Tulane sports: Fox Sports 2 in New Orleans isn't showing the game. They're showing Xavier vs. Wake Forest instead, even though right before that they're showing the Brooklyn Hoops Festival game between St. John's and Columbia. Wut.

Tulane is a real RPI booster, one humdinger of a team. You could say they belong in a team's "best win" column.
