1:56 half time today after spending most of Friday on a tractor and missing a few long runs from being sick. I'll take it

Did 21 miles at 26 sec/mile faster than that 18 miler last week and felt like I could go faster/longer at the end.

Why I'm not asleep I don't

Blake Slaughter passed me during Saturday's half wearing k-state practice gear and what looked like high top hoops shoes.

Nice work Copper!

Any pro tips for reminding yourself of things you see, random thoughts you think, etc while you are out running or biking that you can't remember when you get home?

Ran a mile in 6:59 last weekend.  Been a few years since I've done that.  I know that's not really distance running, but ideally I'd like to make my mile or 2 mile time as low as possible.  Don't care about any distance over that.

If that's not distance running I should just leave this thread forever.

I ran 7 miles on the tred the other day in an hour and 3 minutes. It broke down to about 9:15 a mile. I was juiced that day.

Yesterday I raced my daughter down our street (she was on a bike, I was running) I won but my hamstrings tightened up so much right afterward that I had to lay down on the dining room floor for a little while.

If you don't remember them when you get home, how do you know you forgot them?

12.3 miles this morning at 7:31 pace. Feeling good. Got my half coming up in 2 weeks. I'm contemplating cutting back my long run next weekend to maybe 8 miles. The Hal Higdon training schedule calls for me to run 12. What should I do? Does it matter?
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

If you're interested in getting the lowest possible time, I think cutting down the long run the week before will help. If you're super focused on the marathon, then I'd do 12. Nice times!

Ran a 1:38 half this morning.  Eight minutes faster than my first and only other half two years ago on the same course.  Ready for some bonkers sleep.

I took a wrong turn yesterday and ran 4.5 instead of 4.  Kind of sucked

I took the week off running after last week's half. Can't wait to get back to the 7 to 10 mile Saturday routine.

That's a hell of a training pace KSUW  :emawkid:

Thanks. I'd be very happy with 1:38. That's my goal - under 100 minutes. I think I can do it, but I train early in morning and late at night when it's still dark, and I tend to feel more tired running during day with things to look at. But I figure if I can train at around 7:30 pace I should be able to do it.

I think I'm gonna start scaling back. Give my knees some rest and stick to shorter distance now until the race.

I enjoy reading this thread and seeing all the miles Goemawers are crushing. OKC marathon on Sunday. Last time I ran, my quads said game over at mile 23 and I hobbled to the finish line. I am running at a lot slower pace this time so hopefully I can prolong bonking for as long as I can. Can't wait to eat my Gu energy blocks, listen to Bill Simmons discuss sports, and eat at Whataburger with my medal on.

I have been very disappointing in my running.  I need some motivation. Running the half in Vegas in November seems too far off to even care right now. I probably need a mid-summer race.
